Quiz: Do kidneys help your heart? Test your knowledge

November 26, 2018

We often see the heart and the kidneys as independent organs but the two are far more closely interconnected than you might think.

Your kidneys are the filter system of your body, removing waste products and excess fluid from the blood. But did you know they also share an intimate connection with your heart? If you damage one, you may damage the other.

Medical scientists have been working to better understand this close relationship. How kidney disease can lead to heart disease and vice versa.

So understanding the importance of kidneys in keeping us healthy is critical. But how much do you really know about the kidneys and the vital role they play in helping our bodies and hearts function?
